No matter how "together" you may appear on the outside, when you are hurting on the inside, life can feel overwhelming and exhausting. Perhaps you move through life with your attention always focused on the world around you that you never leave time to check in with yourself internally. Or perhaps you move through life with your attention so focused on your internal experience that it feels like the world around you is quickly passing by.
I understand what it can feel like when you lose sense of who you are in relation to your internal and external worlds. When I lost sight of myself, I noticed that every day began to feel like a struggle and I spent more time thinking about the things I wanted to do rather than actually doing them. I also noticed that my relationships with the people most important to me were starting to feel strained.
Throughout my journey of becoming a therapist, I became a firm believer that profound and lasting change can come when we take that brave step to shift our attention inwards and become curious about the different parts of ourselves, rather than working tirelessly to eliminate, suppress, or avoid what feels uncomfortable.
As your therapist, it is my goal to support you in creating balance between your internal and external worlds, allowing you to live your fullest life as your most authentic self. When we move through life as our most authentic self, we might notice an increased control in our ability to shifting our attention between our internal and external worlds. This can lead to enhanced insight into thoughts and emotions, ability to live in the present moment, and increased sense of connection in relationships.
