I am a Registered Social Worker who has worked in the field of mental health for nearly a decade. In a journey that has spanned everywhere from frontline community programs, to providing specialized mental health services in a hospital setting, I have developed a therapeutic approach rooted in the principles of compassion, understanding and empowerment. I believe that therapy should begin “where you are at” and should use your values as a compass to work towards a fuller, more hopeful, more meaningful life - most importantly, I believe that all of us have the capacity to take this journey. I have worked from multiple therapeutic models, frequently drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centred therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
I welcome the opportunity to work with a diversity of clients, and have a particular interest in working with clients living with a long-term health condition, or those affected by the health condition of a friend or loved one. I am also a good fit for those seeking assistance with depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions, difficulties with substance use/addiction, or difficulties with relationships (friends, family, partners or otherwise). I have training and experience working with youth and their families, as well, and am happy to work with both adolescents and adults of any age. Regardless of who you are or what you are facing, I look forward to working with you towards a life filled with more of the things that matter most to you.
