Subsidized Therapy and Student Program
We offer subsidized therapy rates through our therapist-in-training program.
We have students who are completing their Masters of Counselling Psychology and Masters
of Social Work that are supervised by experienced therapists.
By offering this program, we hope that we can reduce some of the barriers to accessing therapy,
while also supporting the development of psychotherapy and counselling students.
What to Expect
-
The number of available appointments are limited, so we cannot take on all people requesting appointments.
At this time, we are not maintaining a waitlist for subsidized therapy clients.
-
While we work to serve a variety of mental health concerns, our therapists-in-training are equipped to support
a specific number of client concerns as they grow and develop as a therapist. If we do not have a therapist-in-training to support you with your wellness goals, we are happy to provide a list of practitioners or organizations who may be
a better fit for what you are looking for.
-
At this time, we are accepting adults for individual appointments into our subsidized therapy program.
We will not be able to support children and adolescents, or family and relationship therapy appointments in the therapist-in-training program.
-
All therapists-in-training are supervised by clinicians with at least five years’ experience, and thirty hours
of supervisor training. This means that all of the work done with your therapist-in-training is discussed with their supervisor to ensure that they are giving you the best service that they can.
-
Student placements are a fixed term of usually six to eight months. As such, depending when you start therapy,
you may be transitioned from one therapist-in-training to another to allow for continuity of treatment.
-
Subsidized rates are determined with your therapist-in-training during a consultation call.
This rate will be applied to all of your appointments while you are in the subsidized therapy program.
