Get to Know Ashley

The diverse ways we communicate with each other, at home or at work, can make or break our relationships. Romantic partnerships bring out a different, more vulnerable, part of us; a part that is more tenderly impacted by those “little misses” in our everyday conversations.

I’ve been there - where those “little misses” in communication add up over time and cause a build up of tension and act as a wall between two loving people who both deeply want to be understood and connect but can’t seem to get on the same page.

I know how nerve wracking it can be to step into couples therapy without knowing what to expect. I want to reassure you that my approach is informed by research (decades of it!) done by the Gottman Institute that focuses on teaching you the skills to get you unstuck and reconnected. I want you to have a space where you feel not just heard, but truly understood.

In our work together, we’ll identify what’s happening underneath the dynamic between you, build practical communication skills, and strengthen emotional and physical intimacy in a way that makes sense for your relationship. Let’s close the gap those “little misses” have been creating for you and your partner and introduce you to the intimacy and connectedness you have been missing.

I’m especially passionate about supporting people through life transitions—because even good change can strain connection. Moving, becoming parents, welcoming an additional child, blending families, shifting careers, stepping into caregiving roles, graduating, or navigating a new season of identity can create gaps in communication and closeness. Therapy can be a place to recalibrate, reconnect, and return to the relationship with a stronger appreciation for each other.
