Get to Know Beth
When struggling with mental distress, it can feel extremely isolating and lonely. Especially when it is hard to express what you're going through fully or when you worry about burdening those who care about you. Navigating my own experiences with anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence, I can speak to this feeling on a personal level. The kindness, empathy, and authenticity of mental health workers have helped guide me through my own personal mental health journey by providing a secure, honest, and caring environment. That is why I always strive to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where all topics are open for exploration, including thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share with those you care about most. I believe that therapy should offer room to discuss the deeper, more vulnerable topics, without fear of judgment, pressure, or having to filter oneself.

Growing up in a rural community, I understand how stigma and community expectations can influence whether someone feels comfortable seeking help. I approach my work with a sensitivity to such experiences, no matter your background, while also supporting reflection on the strengths provided within that same background. I believe in each individual’s strengths and capacity for growth, as capable and resilient persons, and strive to nurture hope while also helping individuals recognize, as well as build upon, their current strengths to support meaningful change. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to support you in building insight, coping skills, and self-compassion whilst honouring your lived experience and individuality. True to my own experience, I believe meaningful therapy begins with authenticity. I bring my genuine self into the work and prioritize building open, trusting, supportive relationships, where individuals can feel seen, respected, and understood.

If you find yourself overthinking or feeling on edge, experiencing a loss of motivation or connection, struggling with focus, follow-through, or emotional regulation, or wanting to explore personal relationship patterns and strengthen your ability to connect authentically with others, I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside you as you pursue your goals.

Finding a therapist who feels like the ‘right fit’ is an important part of the process, and not every connection will be the right one, and that’s completely okay! I offer 15-minute consultations (either by phone, virtually, or in-person), where you can get a sense of how working with me might feel and decide whether my approach and style feel like a comfortable and supportive match for you and your needs.
